CVS Greene bag tag

I've been reading about this for a few weeks now, but didn't want to post it until I saw it myself at CVS. There are these Greene bag tags you can purchase for $.99 at the checkout.. You attach them to a canvas bag, it can be one you already have from home, and every time you make a purchase, have the cashier scan the tag. Every 4th visit, you will earn an ECB. Of course, you have to remember to bring and use your canvas bag each time you shop, which I have been having problems with lately. There is a rule though that you can only scan the tag once per day. So if you do multiply transactions during the same visit, you can only scan it once.

Children's Place: 15% off coupon

Click on the picture to receive a coupon for 15% off at Children's Place, or get the web code to shop online. Or, you could do what I did, thanks to MoneySavingMom, and go through ebates. Sign up for ebates, and automatically receive $5.00, then go to the Children's Place coupon (on the ebates site), use their coupon code, and receive 3% cash back on your purchase in addition to the 15% off. You can use the percentage off even on clearance items. I ordered 5 shirts for Sydney yesterday, and only paid $20, including shipping. It was much easier to sit and order on the computer and have someone else deliver it to me, than to try and take Syd shopping and be back in time for Gates next feeding.

Grocery Shopping

Hey everyone,
I didn't go grocery shopping last week, except to send Ben to the store for a block of cheese. We had dinner's brought to us every other night for 2 weeks from our wonderful Sunday School family and some friends, so we had plenty to eat for dinners and lunches. Because I spent no money last week, and my budget is usually $60/week, I am going to spend $100 this week, which still puts me $20 under budget for the 2 weeks. Check back next weekend for this weeks shopping trips.

Go here for 2 coupons for a free $25 gift card when you transfer a prescription to Rite Aid. The only time I usually shop at Rite Aid is when I have one of these gift certificates.

This past weekend's $54.89 shopping trip

Well, I'm feeling pretty good about my first shopping trip after baby!
The first picture is CVS and the second picture is Publix.
I spent more out of pocket at CVS than usual b/c I started with a $10 ECB so I had to work my purchases around that. It is always easier to work around smaller ECB's but I am still happy with what I got. I will break down my transactions below.

CVS transaction #1
1 Bayer Breeze glucometer- $14.99
1 Dove bar 6 pack- $7.00
3 Dove shine therapy conditioners- $4.99 each
- $5/$30 purchase coupon I received in e-mail
- 3- $1/1 coupons for Dove hair
- $14.99 coupon for glucometer
- $10.00 ECB
total oop $5.30
earned $10 ECB for Dove purchases, and $5 ECB for glucometer

CVS transaction #2
3 Edy's ice cream- $3.50 each
1 Tone bar soap 2-pack - $1.88
- $1/1 Tone coupon
- 3 $1/1 Edy's ice cream coupons
- $5.00 ECB
total oop $3.83
earned $5 ECB for Edy's, and $1 ECB for Tone

Summary-
Spent $9.13 oop and have $16 ECB's to spend next trip
Glucometer- made $5 profit
Dove 6-pack and Dove conditioners- spent $3.97 + tax total (Very excited about the soap and hair products since I can only use Dove soap due to sensitivities and I received a sample of the Dove shine therapy shampoo and conditioner in the mail a few months ago and really liked it. I do however have to take back one of the conditioners to switch for a shampoo since I accidentally got 3 conditioners.)
Edy's ice creams- $1.25 each
Tone soap- $.37 profit

Total spent at Publix $45.76.

Some of the best deals after sales and coupons were:

Ground Chuck $1.99/lb

Jenny-O ground turkey 20oz- $3.99-$1 coupon= $2.99

Luigi Italian Ice- $.50

Tyson Chicken nuggets- $3.99

Lysol cleaner- $.35

Hunt's diced tomatoes- $.45 each

Hunt's ketchup- $.38 each

Fiber One yogurt- 2 for FREE, 1 for $.25

Knorr pasta sides- FREE X 2

Bumble Bee Tuna pouches- FREE X 2, 3 for $.44 each

Betty Crocker potatoes- 3 for $.07, 1 for $.30

If you have any questions, please let me know.

The arrival of Gates Benjamin Greene

Sorry for such a long break, but the end of pregnancy and working 4 days a week was a bit too much for me to handle. Anyway, baby is here and now that I am at home, I can't wait to get started blogging again.
Gates Benjamin Greene was born October 4th at 4:28 pm. He weighed 6lbs 15 oz (my smallest baby yet) and was 20 inches long. He is so precious and definitely is a better sleeper than my other two (except for last night), but I guess he has to be with two older, very loud, siblings running around.
This one was a longer labor than Briggs, my second, but not too long. We actually went to the hospital Sat night, Oct 3rd, with regular contractions, about every 3-4 minutes. They continued to be regular, but I never dilated over 1 cm. I requested a shot of Demerol, b/c this is what got my second labor going, but the contractions completely stopped. So around midnight we went back home. I got about 5 hrs sleep, then woke up with what I new was the REAL thing. Went back to the hospital on Sunday morning around 9am and was 3 cm dilated. Thank goodness b/c I told the nurse to lie to me if I was still 1 cm b/c I was not going home. The labor progressed from there. I chose to do an epidural with this one ( didn't have time with #2), and received it around 2:00pm. It only covered my right side and didn't touch my left side. Between 3:30 and 4:00, the anesthesiologist came back to readjust it, and thank goodness it worked this time, but my right side was completely numb, for hours into the night. I couldn't even go to the bathroom by myself until about 3 in the morning. But hey, it worked. Little baby Gates was born at 4:28 pm, after pushing through 5 contractions. He is perfect, with lots of dark hair. His sister and brother love him very much. They constantly want to be around him. Syd wants to help change his clothes and diapers, and Briggs wants to show him all of his toys, very, very close in Gates face so he can see them.
Here are some pictures of my beautiful children.
