Last week's shopping trip.

O.K. I know this is a week late, but I wanted to show you last weeks shopping trip before I made this week's shopping trip. Before this shopping trip, I hadn't been grocery shopping in 3 weeks. Hubby was out of town, I was tired, and didn't feel like dragging a 3 & 5 year old to the grocery store. Because we were running very low on groceries, I actuall gave myself a budget of $180, to make up for the 3 weeks of not shopping. I felt like I had a ton of money to spend since I usually only have $60/week to spend. Now that I am not working on the weekends anymore, I plan to do my grocery shopping on Saturday mornings and post my trip by saturday night.
I have also decided to raise my budget $10 dollars a week, to $70, b/c I have been convicted lately to eat more organic foods, and I know that they are more expensive. So here is last Saturday's shopping trip, check back tomorrow night for this Saturday's shopping trip.

CVS- Profit of $2.88

Last week at CVS, I had totally run out of ECB's (see side bar for CVS 101 to learn about ECB's), so I had to pay for everything out of pocket, which doesn't happen very often. Here is what I got:
2 Kellogg's Fruit Loops- $2.00 each, used $1.00 off each coupon= $1.00 each
2 Kellogg's Apple Jacks- $2.00 each, used $1.00 off each coupon= $1.00 each
2 Colgate toothpastes- $3.99 each, used $.75 off each coupon= $3.24 each
1 SoftSoap body wash- $4.99, used $.75 coupon= $4.24

Paid $11.59 out of pocket, earned $3.99 ECB's for each Colgate, $4.49 ECB's for the SoftSoap, and $2.00 ECB's for my winter quarterly spending.

Paid $11.59, made $14.47 in ECB's for next trip= Profit of $2.88!!

6 packs of No Nonsense Pantyhose- $1.00 each, used 6 $1.00 coupons= 6 FREE
6 bottles of Glaceau VitaminWater- $1.00 each, used 6 $1.00 coupons= 6 FREE
2 Olay bar soap 2-pk's- $2.48 each, used $2.00/1 coupon= $.48/2pack
2 Suave deodarant's- $.88 each, used 2 $.50 coupons= $.33 each
1 Johnson's baby bar- $1.77, used $1/1 coupon= $.77
6 Kraft dressings- $1.58 each, used 6 $1.50 coupons= $.08 each

Equate cold and cough= $2.96
M&M's= $.64
Stouffer's Skillet meal=$3.88
Total $17.73
After looking overy my receipt, I see that the cashier didn't ring up one $.50 coupon and 2- $2.00 coupons, so the total should have been $4.50 cheaper. It drives me crazy when that happens. I usuall pay close attention, but I had Syd and Briggs with me that day.
